American Travelers Feeling The Effects of Inflation

If you’re an American who travels, you have most likely noticed that traveling is gradually becoming more and more expensive. The dollar is constantly loosing value against just about every currency in the world, meaning that when you exchange those dollars abroad, you gradually get less and less in return.

Even traditionally affordable locations like Latin America are becoming increasingly more expensive. Currencies like the Colombian Peso have gained substantially against the dollar over the past decade.

As inflation continues to erode the value of the dollar, Americans are slowly becoming poorer on a global scale. Pretty soon a trip to Costa Rica, might seem like a trip to Paris, in terms of cost. If there are any fellow travelers out there, I encourage you to post your comments on how much you’ve seen costs increase wherever you may be traveling too.

At the same time, other countries with sounder economic policies, will benefit greatly from their rising currencies. At the current rate, it won’t take long before the beaches of Costa Rica will soon be filled with those around the world with strong currencies instead of Americans.
